Autodesk Inventor 2026 introduces powerful innovations that make design processes faster, more intuitive and more flexible. Whether you’re working on assemblies, drawings or BIM integrations, this release is packed with enhancements that strengthen your workflow. Below is an overview of the most important updates.

Improved Mirror functionality

  • Mirroring both geometry and position in the assembly environment
  • Maintaining associativity between original and mirrored components
  • New options:
    • Create Flat Structure: mirrors without coupling to the original component
    • Create Mirror Pattern: Keeps geometry and position linked

Stronger support for Model States

  • Simultaneously edit multiple model states
  • Clearer tooltips and icons for better navigation
  • Optimized browser structure: everything grouped under Representations
  • New options such as “New Model State as a Child of [Primary].”

Making Assemblies Easier with Simplify

  • Faster access to Simplify tools via new panels
  • Support for templates (standard and custom)
  • Direct export of simplified models to Revit (.rvt)

Innovations in the Content Center

  • Adjustable favorites: local or shared within a network
  • Improved search filters and parameters for more efficient selection

Higher performance and better multi-monitor support

  • Faster opening and saving thanks to multithreading and better compression
  • Flexible working with multiple screens, even when disconnected

New drawing features for greater precision

  • Sketch Based Break View: precise control over break positions
  • Additional dimensioning types: linear sum and angular sum
  • Architectural dimensions according to DIN 1356-1 standard

  • Bolted Connection Generator: improved bolt thread designations
  • Frame Generator: double-click to edit final edits
  • Flexible pattern assignments and optimized Shell function
  • Sheet Metal workflows improved with clearer previews
  • Support for DIN 5481/5482 in Involute Splines Calculator
  • Dark theme as default and better iLogic scripts with “GetIntentOrDefault”
  • Quick visibility switching with Alt + V

Expanded file format support
